Project
In this project the remodelling processes in the vessel walls after heart transplantation is analysed. Both the immunological stimulation and thickening of the t. intima are studied in this state of vasculopathy ultimately leading to chronic rejection processes.
Similarly the process of remodelling in situations of heart failure and reversed-remodelling in the failing human heart supported by a left ventricular assist device (LAVD) is studied.
Techniques
Immunohistochemistry, Confocal Laserscan Microscopy, Laser microdissection, all Mol. Biol. Techniques such as PCR, blotting, DNA/RNA isolation, gelelectrophoresis, sequencing etc., tissue culture.
Duration
6 or 9 months
